Advancing the study of traumatic experiences of leadership.
Traumatic experiences of leadership is an emerging area of scholarship that examines how adverse experiences related to leadership roles affect leaders’ well-being, identity, effectiveness, and career trajectories. Although workplace stress, burnout, and moral injury have received increasing attention, the unique ways leaders experience psychologically significant workplace events remain understudied. Our goal is to help establish traumatic experiences of leadership as a rigorous area of interdisciplinary scholarship and practical application. This page highlights publications, presentations, and other scholarly contributions that are helping to define and advance this growing field.
